A cemetery is not a sad place. Nor is it a scary place. It is a place of beauty. Each memorial, each stone is a monument to love. The graveyards of our country can be breathtakingly beautiful and home to some stunning works of art. Some are vast well kept, purpose built spaces with mown lawns and trimmed hedges while some are small crumbling pieces of history in parish Kirk yards. Some have even fallen into such a state of seeming neglect that they have become wildlife havens to a vast array of plant and animal life.
